Announcement of the cancellation of the “Tour de Hokkaido 2022”

We, Tour de Hokkaido Association have made a difficult decision to cancel “Tour de Hokkaido 2021” scheduled to be held from September 24 to September 26, 2021, after the thorough risk assessment on July 25, which is 60 days before the event, since the current situation of the infection numbers in Hokkaido indicates an increase tendency still being at the COVID-19 Hokkaido Alert Stage 3.
We appreciate all the teams, riders and fans for kind understanding our decision under these circumstances.
We also would like to deeply thank all those concerned including the local authorities and relevant organizations for the continuous support and cooperation to hold our event.
Looking ahead to the end of the pandemic, we will keep trying our best to improve our 2022 edition while ensuring the safety and security.

Further information regarding “The Citizen Race” scheduled on the different date, will be updated after August 6 (65 days before the event).
